Description: A chronic endocrine syndrome in which the body is unable to metabolize carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, and unable to use or release insulin adequately, thereby causing high levels of glucose in the body.  Symptoms correspond to the affects high blood sugar levels, causing excessive urination, thirst, and hunger, as well as nausea, weight loss, blurred vision and fatigue.
